Composite yachts are built using fibreglass or carbon fibre, combining low weight, high strength and complete resistance to corrosion. They are particularly well suited to high-speed cruising, offer excellent vibration and sound insulation, and allow for the creation of complex and highly refined hull shapes. In addition, thanks to their monolithic construction and uniform structural rigidity, GRP hulls can offer a greater interior volume than steel or aluminium yachts of the same overall dimensions.
