Tenders and chase boats are designed to be compact enough for storage aboard the main yacht while offering high speed and excellent manoeuvrability. They provide convenient transportation for guests and crew between the yacht and shore, as well as for carrying provisions, equipment and water toys. They can be powered by either petrol or diesel engines. Diesel engines are considerably heavier and are generally installed on tenders from around 6 metres in length. One of the key advantages of a diesel-powered tender is the ability to refuel directly from the yacht’s main fuel tanks.
