Meet the new Riva 88 Folgore: the name of the model translated from Italian means “lightning”. The Riva shipyard first presented a new model in January, and on May 25, 2020 Folgore was launched in La Spezia, where Riva's production facilities dedicated to large models from 76 to 110 foot are based. This is the first launch for Riva since the removal of quarantine in Italy.

Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group, commented:

“Riva 88 Folgore looks like a vessel just back from a journey into the future: she is a dazzling flash of style, she is strength, she is performance, she is innovation. The launch of the first new model in 2020 represents a new Renaissance for the Ferretti Group, which restarts from Riva, brand becoming more and more a contemporary myth, the essence of Made in Italy and a tangible sign of a country that starts again."

88 Folgore is unmistakably recognized as Riva, but at the same time it has a lot of new elements inspired by sports cars: elegance is diluted with sporty chic, and the familiar details of the shipyard’s stylistic heritage - mahogany and steel inserts - are combined with ultramodern carbon details. The interior’s character changed as well, but still remained luxurious: the main materials are wood, marble, steel and glass. Three layout options have been developed for the master cabin, while there are 3 more cabins for six guests, each with private bathroom. In addition to them, on the lower deck there is also a galley, completely isolated for privacy: a dedicated entrance was made for the crew.

Many interesting things can be found on open decks, in particular, a completely new concept of the stern. The garage door, when opened, is fixed in two positions: parallel to the waterline, creating a beach club with an area of 6 m², and under water - to launch the tender. The saloon of the main deck (although it is commonly referred to as a cockpit on sports yachts) has an area of 22 m²: there is a large sofa, a table and a hidden bar: a marble top opens with an electric drive. Moreover, a completely transparent hardtop on the superstructure can be opened and tilted toward both the stern and bow, to let in fresh air during navigation or when at anchor. The 88 Folgore is a creation of the permanent Riva’s designer Mauro Micheli, or rather the Officina Italiana Design studio, which he founded together with Sergio Beretta. However, the yacht development was carried out in close collaboration with the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, which includes Riva.
