The Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche, specializing in explorer yachts, announced the launch of Archipelago – its the latest 31-m (102 feet) Darwin Class 102 model.

The key feature of this explorer yacht is the opportunity to offer her owner and guests an ideal holiday at sea: under any conditions it will be safe and comfortable on board. Darwin 102 encompasses all the well-known qualities of the Darwin series: impeccable construction and equipment quality, excellent seaworthiness and impressive autonomy. Designed by Sergio Cutolo of Italian studio Hydro Tech, the yacht has interiors conceived by Francesco Guida.

“We are very proud of launching the fifth Darwin Class 102’, confirming that there is no other more successful explorer vessel model between 90 and 110 feet on the whole market. This build has been another amazing example of the incredible flexibility of this shipyard when it is needed: the whole last 4 months of the build have been followed step by step personally by our General Manager Bruno Piantini who has lead the project teams on both sides with unbelievable energy and capacity, putting all his knowledge and experience at their disposal. It has been an amazing lesson for everyone involved, and I personally thank my friend Bruno for having done that: Grazie Bruno!”

With a length of 31 m and a width of 7.43 m, Archipelago has a master cabin on main deck forward and four guest suits on the lower deck, which is also home for a cabin accommodating 6 crew members. The yacht’s layout provides for both private and public areas on all decks. The main deck has a large open-plan living room and main dining room. Another informal salon is located on the upper deck astern with an access to the open sky lounge with a magnificent view of the sea. All in all, the yacht’s layout directs all the living accommodations towards the sea. Even the colours used in the fresh, modern interior recall the sea, sky and clouds: white, blue and green create an atmosphere of lightness and relaxation.

“Slow and steady wins the race” is the Darwin’s motto and Archipelago is no exception. Powered with Caterpillar C18 Acert engines of 500 kW each, the yacht reaches a top speed of 13 knots. The relaxing cruising speed is 11.5, and in economical mode at 9.5 knots Archipelago has a remarkable for her size range of 4700 nautical miles without refuelling, which is not surprising with a fuel capacity of 40 tons.
