With a view to expand its presence in the market of yachts up to 65 meters, the Genoa-based shipyard has announced its new Linea Sportiva by designer Luca Dini. The new model range will include three hulls: 45, 55 and 65 meters. The middle sister, Sportiva 55, has an internal gross tonnage under 500GT.

"At Tankoa we always try to think of new products that can meet the ever-changing needs of customers in our market segment. With this in mind, we met various designers to exchange ideas and views on new products. With Luca Dini we found an immediate harmony of ideas that became concrete a few months later with the first concept of the Sportiva 55: it was love at first sight!”, says Tankoa CEO, Vincenzo Poerio.

The 55-meter project has a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. Guests can be accommodated in cabins with bathrooms on the lower deck, although a five cabins version has already been developed. The galley is also on the lower deck, while the crew quarters is placed forward. The master suite is located on the main deck. The 7m tender, crew tender and jet ski are stored in the bow of the vessel but hidden from view by the bulwark.

The Sportiva 55 reaches a top speed of 16.5 knots, and has a cruising speed of 15 knots. The new superyacht by Tankoa also boasts a rather modest appetite: at a speed of 12 knots, the cruising range will be 3,800 nautical miles. The vessel can optionally be equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, with the engine room moved forward so that the four guest cabins on the lower deck have direct access to the spa area and beach club. The latter, by the way, looks more like a cockpit on the main deck and is equipped with a swimming pool. The garage is loaded with water toys from the side. A large hull window that is partially underwater is a beautiful design touch.

Although the shipyard is open about the fact that the 55m hull of the new range is the closest to the needs of the current client base, the company expects equally impressive results from the 45m all-aluminum version and the scaled 65m hull.
