Aberton Yachts has signed a contract to build the 26m Darwin yacht by the Italian shipyard Cantiere Delle Marche. The handover of the vessel to the client is scheduled for 2023.

The Darwin yachts continue to be in-demand in the CDM product portfolio. The strength of steel hulls, technical equipment, seaworthiness and reliability of this line attract owners who want to explore the most remote corners of our planet.

"Due to the Covid travel restrictions it was not possible to meet in person the client and the overall vessel’s customization and contract negotiations were run on-line. The client was looking for a metal boat able to withstand the toughest weather condition and with enough space to allow him to work as well as to continue his training routines. It was clear since day one about what he wanted and Igor Cherentaev of Aberton Yachts proved to be very supportive throughout the process" - says Carlo Aquilanti, Sales Manager at Cantiere Delle Marche.

Darwin 86 is an expedition motor yacht with 4 guest cabins and exterior designed by the famous Italian studio Hydro Tec. The kitchen, service areas and crew quarters are grouped together in one place, which minimizes the crew flow around the yacht and remarkably increases the level of privacy of the owner and guests. Technically, the Darwin 86 is as equipped as her older sisters Darwin 96 and 102 and has a strong steel hull, stabilizers, a six-meter tender and a control board with large monitors in the main helm station. The range of the Darwin 86 reaches 4,000 nautical miles, which together with the high reliability of the vessel, allows the owner to choose any destination.

The future Darwin 86 hull will be equipped with two Man engines and is designed for long voyages along the northern coast of Russia. The aft terrace of the upper deck will be made of steel, instead of aluminum. All floors will be heated and the cockpit can be insulated to allow guests to enjoy the scenery in the low temperatures outside. A significant part of the lower deck will be dedicated to the owner's suite for a comfortable midship master cabin and a versatile relaxation area with spa.
