130m+ Lurssen yacht technically launched

The semi-complete hull of a Lürssen project, known only as Project Deep Blue, has been spotted for the first time during its technical launch.

The hull was seen preparing to leave the shipbuilder's Lemwerder site in order to move to Lürssen's Bremen facility for the next stage of construction, which will see the bow segment attached.

While no official specifications have been released by the yard, Project Deep Blue is estimated to measure around 130 metres, although this figure could be significantly higher once the bow is fitted.

Details about the yacht's design team also remain under wraps, but yacht-spotters have drawn similarities between the yacht's lines and those of Ahpo (now Lady Jorgia), with the same tapered decks on the forward part of the superstructure.

The yacht, which is expected to have a gross tonnage of around 9,000 GT, is one of Lürssen's first projects to use the builder's new slipway which is able to accommodate much heavier loads.
