From Turkish Shipbuilding to International Recognition
Turquoise Yachts was established in 1997 through the merger of two Turkish shipbuilding companies, Proteksan and Turquoise, whose origins date back to the 1970s. One of its earliest landmark projects was the 50-metre Mosaique, delivered in 2001. Today, the shipyard operates production facilities in Istanbul and Kocaeli, specialising in fully custom steel and aluminium superyachts up to 90 metres.Individuality Without Limits
Turquoise Yachts does not offer a conventional production range: every yacht is designed and built around the individual requirements of its owner. Notable projects include the 77-metre Go, the ice-class explorer Blue II and the 79-metre Nympheas. In 2026, the shipyard delivered the 88-metre Angelique, the largest yacht built in Turkey. Turquoise collaborates with internationally renowned studios including H2 Yacht Design, Nuvolari Lenard, Winch Design and Andre Hoek. Its long-standing relationship with H2 Yacht Design is particularly significant, with the studio responsible for Angelique’s exterior and interior. The shipyard’s principal strength lies in combining European design expertise, advanced in-house engineering and flexibility in executing highly individual projects.Production and Technology
Turquoise Yachts operates two facilities on the Sea of Marmara. Steel hulls and aluminium superstructures for yachts up to 120 metres are manufactured in Kocaeli, while the 25,000-square-metre facility in Pendik, Istanbul, handles final assembly and outfitting. The shipyard can accommodate the simultaneous construction of up to nine superyachts. Its in-house engineering department employs Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Future development focuses on hybrid propulsion, exemplified by the 76-metre N2H, the shipyard’s first hybrid superyacht, equipped with a 1.5 MW battery system.
