A British Yachting Legend
Sunseeker was established in 1969 in Poole, England, when Robert Braithwaite founded Poole Power Boats. Its early Sovereign 17 and Sovereign 20 models laid the foundations for the company’s success. Today, Sunseeker is one of Britain’s most recognisable yacht builders, producing performance motor yachts, flybridge cruisers and superyachts up to 40 metres.Design and Model Range
Sunseeker earned international recognition through its Predator series, celebrated for aggressive styling and outstanding performance. The contemporary portfolio includes Predator 55–75 sports yachts, the Manhattan flybridge range and the Ocean series, offering generous interior volumes and expansive beach clubs. Notable models include the Superhawk 55 and the new Manhattan 94. Naval architect Don Shead played an important role in the brand’s development, while today’s yachts are designed by the in-house Sunseeker Design team. The Superhawk 55 won a Motor Boat Award in 2024, while the innovative Ocean 156 received recognition at the World Yachts Trophies 2024.Production and Technology
Sunseeker’s principal manufacturing facilities remain in Poole, Dorset, where the company manages yacht design, hull production, assembly and interior outfitting. In 2026, the shipyard produces approximately 90 yachts annually and employs around 1,900 specialists. Proprietary innovations include the SkyHelm control station and the award-winning X-TEND transforming aft platform. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used in hull development. Future projects include the 134 Superyacht, representing the brand’s continued expansion into larger motor yachts.
