The Sanlorenzo Italian shipyard is preparing the next premiere in its steel superyachts lineup. Three hulls of the new 62 Steel have already been sold and are under construction, one of them is scheduled to make its debut in September at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The shipyard says the Sanlorenzo 62 Steel will set new standards in its class. With a length of 61.5 m and a displacement of 1200 tons, the yacht has 5 decks and vast indoor spaces inherent to Sanlorenzo. This especially concerns the saloon of the main deck, the beach club and the owner's apartment. The latter occupies 210 square meters, including 97 square meters of indoor space (bedroom, office, dressing room, 2 bathrooms) and 123 square meters of outdoor space (bow of the main deck + private sundeck).
A saloon with a main dining room for 16 people covers an area of 90 square meters. The same area is allocated to a beach club featuring a lounge, bar, spa and fitness space. Another 40 square meters spreads across folding terraces on both sides.
The concept of the 62 Steel layout was designed on the basis of the flagship Sanlorenzo - 64 Steel (64 m, 1600 t) model, which at the time also created a revolution in the industry. Speed characteristics are similar as well: 16.5 - 17 knots with a pair of Caterpillar engines, although they are more powerful on 64 Steel because of the longer yacht. The draft is also slightly different: 3.2 m vs 3.4 m.
The first hull of the new 62 Steel will be launched in May. The second and third hulls will be handed over to the owners in April 2021 and 2022 respectively.
