Since its highly acclaimed debut in 2009, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has become a leading event on the Formula 1 calendar. Crowds of more than 50,000 spectators annually descend to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, to witness the final race of the Formula 1 World Championship. Taking place on the ground-breaking Yas Marina Circuit which was designed by Grand Prix architect Hermann Tilke, racers speed through 58 laps as the Middle East becomes a beautifully illuminated blur of the world’s most spectacular supercars under the night sky.
The instant popularity of the F1 fixture has seen Yas Island become a hub of superyacht activity, attracting some of the world’s most impressive luxury yachts to Yas Marina. Offering 227 superb berthing options for motor yachts measuring up to 175 meters in length as well as a number of luxury facilities to make use of between the racing, there are plenty of reasons to incorporate the Grand Prix into an Abu Dhabi yacht charter.
Just like the Monaco Grand Prix, the UAE-based event is also renowned for its after-race entertainment with F1 Abu Dhabi Yacht Parties onboard the superyachts in the marina. Included with the ticket entry and marina passes is access to a series of post-race concerts at du Arena where world-class acts keep Grand Prix visitors entertained each night. Past performers include renowned names like Prince and Beyoncé.
The city's best clubs also ramp up their nighttime offerings over the race week and a number of iconic pop-up nightclubs that follow the championship across the globe make Yas Island their home for the weekend. Among these is the legendary Amber Lounge.
