Bilge system

• The system is divided into two lines, with the following characteristics:
• Main bilge system composed of 6 automatic and independent electric pumps located in each watertight compartment:
• - 2 in the engine room (fore and aft)
• - 2 (1 on each side) beside the fuel tank
• - 1 (central) forward of the gray / black water tank
• - 1 (central) fore service compartment (below owner's tray) and controlled through microswitches
• Each electric pump can be controlled either manually or automatically
• Secondary or auxiliary bilge system, composed of 6 suction points located as follows:
• 2 in the engine room
• 2 on fuel tank side (1 on each side)
• 2 at the bow
• Each suction point is connected through flexible piping to a manual valve and a main manifold located in the engine room, from where it is possible to select one or more selector switches for emptying the relevant bilge
• The secondary bilge system is connected in parallel to the fire extinguishing and chain wash system, therefore in case of engine room pump fault, it is possible to operate special three-way valves and use the fore (chain wash) pump
• A second electric pump (connected in parallel to the electric bilge pump) operating as a backup can be connected through three-way valves in case of main pump fault
• The bilge system shall also be equipped with:
• Engine room emergency bilge system, through bypass on the engine seawater intake (manifold and three way valve): this system allows sucking the water from the engine room using the cooling pump of the main engines.

Fire extinguishing system
