The Genoa-located Tankoa Yachts shipyard has resumed work at full capacity to complete construction of a new 50-meter Project S501 yacht. The third hull of this series, made entirely of aluminum, found its owner in March, and by the end of 2020 the yacht is set to hit the water. By mid-June, the shipyard is due to complete the hull painting - it will be coal-black with silver accents; insulation and sound damping, as well as piping, that are respectively about 90% and 80% complete. The next step will be the installation of teak decks and interior decoration by the American design studio Casadio Miami.
The name of the new S501 is still unknown, but it will be similar to the other two Tancoa yachts, made on the same engineering platform - Bintador and Vertige. The exterior of the whole series is distinguished by clean, strict lines made by designer Francesco Paszkowski . However, there will be differences as well: the aft of the main deck will be completely designed as a salon, while the dining room will move to the upper deck. Also, the master cabin will become more versatile: the adjoining private lounge area can serve as an additional en-suite cabin for guests. This suggests that the yacht will be used for charter as well. There will be 6 cabins on board, a huge beach club with a gym and a SPA area. The yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of about 14 knots.
According to Tankoa Yachts’ sales manager, Giuseppe Mazza, despite the obliged suspension of production due to quarantine restrictions, Tankoa's production is now resuming in full force. "With construction at more than 75% complete, we’re making up for lost time and looking at delivery by the end of the year to allow the owner to use it in the Caribbean."
