A beach holiday in the Maldives is considered luxurious, but monotonous. It is quite another thing if you are travelling around the archipelago on a yacht! Until recently, there were few charter yachts in the Maldives, but today this fantastic region of the Indian Ocean is becoming more and more attractive. One of the luxury Maldives-based yachts available for charter with Aberton Yachts is Galaktika Sky. Below you will find a unique route through the central and southern atolls of the Maldives, where, unlike the more touristic northern atolls, there are still a lot of secret places and uninhabited islands.

Day 1: Arrival and Beginning of the Journey

The beauty of the Maldives is that, upon landing, you can immediately start relaxation: the yacht is waiting near the airport and in 15 minutes you will be on board, where the captain and crew are waiting for you with champagne. Lunch, exploring the boat and learning safety rules on board - and you set off to the ocean, to Ari Atoll. In the evening, at anchor after a romantic dinner at sunset, the crew turns on special lights so that guests can see the incredible manta rays that appear right next to the yacht, attracted by the light.

Day 2: Thaa Atoll

After a delicious breakfast, it's time to explore the Indian Ocean: take a dip in the beautiful lagoon, snorkel while observing the underwater life, and for those who love outdoor activities, a jet ski and water toys will come in handy. After lunch - the first theoretical diving lesson, and then the yacht will sail to Taa Atoll, where you will observe whale sharks in the evening. These are the largest fish in the world - up to 12 m long, but at the same time - completely safe for humans, because they feed on plankton. The crew of the yacht will turn on special lights again, attracting plankton, and subsequently graceful spotted sharks.

Day 3: Scuba Diving

In the morning the yacht sails to safe shallow water for further scuba diving training. Here, at a shallow depth under the guidance of an instructor, beginners will be able to dive for the first time with scuba gear. And after lunch - to make the first real dive in open water.

Day 4: Huvadhoo Atoll

Early in the morning we set off towards the equator with fishing along the way. But the most interesting awaits in the evening - anchorage next to a desert island and an evening barbecue with a fire and candles on the beach under the starry sky. You will definitely remember this day, as well as the next one.

Day 5: Equator

Your breakfast will be served still in the northern hemisphere, while lunch will be waiting for you already in the southern one. But along the way you will enjoy trolling fishing. Here there is a chance to catch such large predators as wahoo and tuna, so that later the chef will cook sashimi that have no equals in restaurants in terms of freshness. According to an old maritime tradition, while crossing the equator, a Neptune festival is held on board: beginners are initiated into real sailors with swimming in the equatorial channel and presentation of certificates during a gala dinner on board. On this day, there will be another surprise – at anchor you will see lots of sea turtles near a desert island.

Day 6: Laamu Atoll

Laamu Atoll, on the border of the Central and Southern Maldives, is among top divers’ destinations: you will hardly find tourist infrastructure here, the water and beaches are perfectly clean. While sailing you will enjoy fishing (the chef will serve the catch for dinner), and then – scuba diving or snorkeling: there are many shallow transparent lagoons on Laamu. At night the yacht will be at anchor near the picturesque island: there are about 80 of them on Laamu, with 12 of them inhabited.

Day 7: Laamu Atoll

It makes sense to spend another day diving or fishing on Laamu - deep sea or trolling; water toys and secluded islands at your disposal, and in the evening - dancing and karaoke on board Galaktika Sky. The transition to the next Miimu Atoll can be planned both during the day and at night.

Day 8: Meemu Atoll

A very romantic and picturesque atoll, where 35 islands spread along the territory of 50x30 km. The beaches of the uninhabited part (25 islands) are very beautiful, plus you will find many chic scuba diving locations: the rich underwater world includes rare coral species.

Day 9: Felidhoo Atoll

There are very few tourists here, unlike nurse sharks but you can swim without any fear. In the Maldives, there are no shark attacks on humans at all, since only safe species live here. In addition, predators prefer depth and do not swim in the warm shallow waters of the Maldives.

Day 10: Way back to Male Atoll

On the way back you will enjoy new picturesque islands and lagoons, of course with stops for swimming. In addition, the captain knows a secret scuba diving site surrounded by stingrays and lots of fish. In the evening, you are invited to a gala dinner by the Galaktika Sky chef, and in the morning the yacht crew will present you with PADI certificates and a video about your adventures in the Maldives.
