Baglietto shipyard marked the end of quarantine restrictions by launching on June 17 a 40-meter yacht (hull 10232), designed by Horacio Bozzo together with Achille Salvagni. The former was responsible for the yacht’s exterior with both a sporty, yet elegant look in full accordance with its technical concept: built entirely of aluminum, the new Baglietto can reach 18 knots, an impressive speed for its 40 meters. In a cruise mode the yacht reaches 12 knots and can sail 3,500 nautical miles without refueling, allowing to safely make very long autonomous transitions not only across the Atlantic.
The yacht was built for the American customer and the shipyard developed a new engineering platform in the V-Line series especially for this contract. Visually, this is a rather unusual project for Baglietto - for the first time, a yacht of this brand has a brutal straight bow. Another interesting detail is an incredible acoustic comfort, despite a couple of powerful CAT C32 ACERT D engines: the noise level on board does not exceed 40 dB.
Achille Salvagni was responsible for the interior - Baglietto has not yet disclosed details (perhaps the yacht will remain private and will not come into the spotlight either in charter or in the media). But given the many awards Salvagni received for the superyachts, his attention to detail and an unusual approach to layout, we can assume that the yacht’s interior is as interesting as its exterior.
This new project is the next step for Baglietto in designing customized yachts. A new production hangar for the construction of yachts up to 65 meters has now been opened at the La Spezia shipyard. At the moment, work is underway on 4 hulls. In addition to the 40-meter yacht just launched, a 54-meter hull designed by Horacio Bozzo (interiors - Hot Lab studio) is now under construction; it will also be launched in 2020. Moreover, work is underway on a 48-meter yacht of the T-Line series according to the same project as the well-known Baglietto’s masterpieces - Andiamo and Silver Fox. Finally, a 38-meter yacht is at the early stage of construction, with its delivery to the customer scheduled for 2022. The work is in full swing, and the Baglietto shipyard emphasizes that it is optimistic about the future.
